シンガー、ソングライター、ミュージシャン、プロデューサー、と一人何役もこなすマルチ・タレントぶり。プリンスの名にふさわしく、ホワイト・ブラックという人種の壁を越えた全米のアイドルになったのも彼が史上最初なのではないだろうか。
彼の代表作は何といっても、この‟ When the Doves Cry”。 このＭＶは1985年のＭＴＶ賞を貰っている。この曲が挿入されている映画
‟Purple Rain”も大ヒット。しかし、ストーリーがどうも、というのが当時わざわざ金を払って見た拙者の感想。
でも王子様だから、彼の奇行の数々のすべては許される。それだけのオーラのあるアーティスト、それがプリンス。
